Scalies is a term used to denote a subset of the furry community consisting of characters based off of reptilian animals like lizards and snakes, as well as select fantasy creatures such as dragons[1] (anthropomorphic and otherwise). The term is also equally used as a moniker by people who identify with such creatures. Other definitions include being the reptilian equivalent of furries, whom are themselves generally mammals. Although never quite spraying too far from the main furry community to ever be decisively defined as their own community, it's not uncommon to see scalies distinguish themselves from the greater body of the furry fandom.
